Definition
Evolution: is how things are descended from each other. The animals (or plants) pass on characteristics to their offspring. Gradually, the species changes over time. This definition includes small-scale evolution (for example changes in genes in a population from one generation to the next) and large-scale evolution (the descent of different species from a common ancestor over many generations).
Hawaiian Translation: Loli ‘ana

Example

A genealogy illustrates change with inheritance over a small number of years. Over a large number of years, evolution produces tremendous diversity in forms of life.
