Seamount: is a submarine mountain rising several hundred fathoms above the floor of the sea but having its summit well below the surface of the water.

Example
Loihi seamount is Hawai'i's youngest volcano. This picture shows the height and shape of the volcano. while an active volcano it is also known as a seamount as its summit is still underwater.
