Simple Machines

1. Click on the website under “Simple Machine Links” and complete the activity.
2. Click on 2 websites under “Quick Reference Links” and look at the pictures.
3. Click on all 4 websites under “More Simple Machines” and gather more information.
4. Complete both columns for simple machines on Simple Machine Worksheet:
• Describe “How It Works” for each simple machine. Include scientific terms: force, gravity, motion, or friction.
• Draw 1 additional example for each simple machine.

Compound Machines

5. Click on website under “Compound Machines Links” and complete the activity. Practice identifying simple machines in compound machines.
6. Click on website under “Quick Reference Links” and look at the pictures.
7. Click on website under “More Compound Machines” and read the explanation and complete the activity.
8. Complete Complex Machine sections on Simple Machine Worksheet:
• Draw 1 diagram of a compound machine
• Name each simple machine in the compound machine
• Write what work the compound machine does. Include scientific terms: force, gravity, motion, or friction.
9. Answer reflection questions in your oblog (notebook).
